Can I sample a course I'm interested in before I sign up for a membership?

Absolutely. You can sample several segments of any course we offer, allowing you to hear the teacher's voice and see the visuals. Just click onto our course list page, then click on the "try" button next to the course of your choosing. That will take you to a page that tells about the course and that lists out the tutorials (training video segments) included in the course. Click on any tutorial title that has the "Free" button beside it to launch that video. After that you can subscribe for a membership, which allows you unlimited access not only to that course but to all Simon Sez IT courses during the time you are a member.


I'm only interested in taking one course, not in multiple courses.

Most customers consider it more cost-effective to sign up for a monthly or yearly online membership. Often a person starts out thinking they are interested in learning just one particular software program. Then when they master that software, they feel confident and encouraged to tackle yet another. With the membership option, they can take as many courses as they like for no extra charge. This is why we do not sell isolated courses on the Simon Sez IT website, but do offer 32 courses for the price of one.


What if I have questions or problems while I'm watching my tutorial?

Should you have any problems using the system, we offer free technical support for our customers. Call us at 1-888-877-5230 or send an e-mail to support@SimonSezIT.com. We will respond promptly.


Who are the voices I hear in the videos?

We have a number of teachers. Each one is a highly experienced software technician selected for his or her thorough knowledgeable of the software application to be taught.


How long are the courses and the tutorials?

The running time of a course can be from one to ten hours. (Average is about six hours.) The running time of a tutorial (video) can be less than one minute (for an introductory segment) all the way up to 20 minutes. A course is made up of a number of tutorials.

Can I get my money back if I'm not satisfied?

Only if you sign up for the monthly membership. If you sign up for an annual membership, that will not automatically renew, but we'll send you a reminder when your annual membership is about to expire.

 

What if I want to unsubscribe?

When you feel you’ve had enough training and are ready to unsubscribe, you can send an e-mail directly to support@SimonSezIT.com. Customers who paid through PayPal can cancel directly from their PayPal account.

 

Is the price I see listed for only one course or for all courses?

Any monthly or annual subscription includes unlimited access to all Simon Sez IT courses including new courses released while your subscription is active.


What payment methods do you accept?

We accept PayPal, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express.

 

Will your videos work with Mac computers?

All of our courses are compatible with both Windows (PC) and Mac computers.

 

What's the difference between a tutorial and a course?

A course consists of a number of tutorials (also called videos). A tutorial is a video segment targeted at explaining one particular function of the software application you are studying.

 

Can I view your online training from any computer?

Any computer with an Internet connection can be used.

 

Do you offer discounts for non-profits or educational institutions?

What is your refund policy?

I am a new subscriber - how do I access subscriber-only material?

Click here to watch our video tutorial explaining how to log in. Or if you prefer written instructions, log in using the following steps:


To access our online training videos, click on the “Login” icon located in the upper right hand portion of your browser. You can also click here which will take you directly to the login page.


Click on the “Login” button. Once you are successfully logged in, you will automatically be directed to the course page. You can then access any of the dozens of course titles that are listed there (Word 2010, Excel 2007, PowerPoint 2010, Dreamweaver CS5, etc.).


After clicking on a course title (for example, PowerPoint 2007), you will see all video (tutorial) titles listed that are contained in that course. These are the exact same titles you see on the screen as a non-member, but your successful log-in now allows you to access them.


An alternative way to login is:

Go to your desired course page – let's use Outlook 2007 as an example. From there, click on any of the links without a "Free" button. These are the subscriber-only videos. Let's imagine you want to view the "Creating Rules" video (tutorial) located in Chapter 2. After you click on this video link, the log-in page will appear if you have not already logged in. Once you are successfully logged in, the video will start automatically.

 

How do I upgrade my monthly membership to an annual membership?

  • Go to the member login page: http://www.simonsezit.com/amember/member.php
  • Login to your member page by entering your Simon Sez IT username and password.
  • On the right-hand side, you’ll have an option to “Add/Renew Subscription
  • Click on the drop-down box and select “Annual Membership to SimonSezIT.com
  • Click the “Order” button
  • Enter your payment information


How do I get the Flash software required to watch your training videos?

The Adobe Flash Player is a free download available at http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/


How do I get the Quicktime Player to view your Introduction to Mac OS 10.5 and Google Docs courses?

The Quicktime Player is a free download available from Apple at: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/


How do I cancel my monthly recurring membership?

You can send an e-mail directly to support@SimonSezIT.com. Customers who paid through PayPal can cancel at anytime. For PayPal customers: Log in to your account by going to your membership page or click here.

You will be prompted with the following message: "Do you really want to cancel subscription". Click “OK” and you will be redirected to PayPal to complete the cancellation.

 

How do I start my Simon Sez IT DVD?
Our training DVDs are designed for easy setup. If the instructions included with your DVD are not working, try this:
Option 1):

Open the Internet Explorer web browser first, then insert your DVD into your DVD-ROM player.

  • Click on the "Start" button (bottom left)
  • Locate "My Computer" – also called “Computer” on some desktops (or go to your desktop and locate "My Computer")
  • Right click on "My Computer" or “Computer” and select "Open"
  • Right click on your DVD-ROM which is likely your D: or E: drive. Select "Open"
  • You should now see a list of files on the DVD. Locate the file named course_list.htm
  • Right click on course_list.htm and select "Open With" and select "Internet Explorer"
  • Internet Explorer should start and you should now see the start page for your Simon Sez IT training DVD.

Option 2):

Open the Internet Explorer web browser first, then insert your DVD into your DVD-ROM player.

  • With the Internet Explorer open, click on the "File" menu and select "Open". If you do not see the "File" menu in Internet Explorer, press the "CTRL" and "O" keys.
  • The "Open" dialog should appear. Select the "Browse" button.
  • Browse or locate your DVD-ROM which is likely your D: or E: drive.
  • You should now see a list of files on the DVD. Locate the file named course_list.htm
  • Select or click on the course_list.htm file and select "Open"
  • Select "OK"
  • You should now see the start page for your Simon Sez IT training DVD.
  • If you were successful, you can now add a “Favorite” in Internet Explorer to remember the DVD start page.

 

How do I change my password or email address?

  • Go to the member login page: http://www.simonsezit.com/amember/member.php
  • Login to your member page by entering your Simon Sez IT username and password.
  • Under the "Useful Links section, click on "Change Password/Edit Profile"

    When I start a video on the DVD, I get a blank page with no video. Why is that?

You may be using the newest version of Internet Explorer – IE 9. If you are using IE 9, you likely have security feature preventing the video from starting. There are a few workarounds outlined in this video: Using Internet Explorer Version 9
